Meet Sarah

Sarah Silva-James is a Chicago-based singer and actor with Colombian-Italian heritage originally from the San Francisco Bay Area.

Since the age of five, she has loved singing musical theater, classical, and jazz repertoire and that passion has only grown stronger. Through high school, Sarah continued to delve into musical theater and had the amazing experience of performing in Craig Slaight’s musical, I’m Still Standing, at American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.

She graduated with honors from Washington University in St. Louis with a BA in Drama and minors in Music and Psychology. At WashU, she enjoyed being part of several mainstage productions in the Performing Arts Department, as well as a few student-run shows. Favorite roles include Janet Weiss in The Rocky Horror Show, Goodman in Men on Boats, and Frances in Melancholy Play. She also performed overseas in two incredible opportunities through WashU: a musical revue for prospective students and alums in Shanghai and Beijing, and the Shakespeare at the Globe program where she worked with Jane Lapotaire and Michael Fry on monologue technique, and took classes in voice, movement, and stage combat culminating in a showcase on the Globe stage.

Outside of performing, Sarah dabbles in costume design and crochet, spending three summers as an assistant at Portola Valley Theatre Conservatory. She is also an avid animal lover, and huge Golden State Warriors fan!
